Woodcroft went from industrial land to a full residential estate within a few years of its 1996 release, and the whole suburb was built out quickly. The first generation of shutters fitted here is now approaching thirty years of service, and that is the age at which things start to go.
We cover Woodcroft across the 2767 postcode, including the streets around Woodcroft Lake and out to the Doonside, Marayong, Quakers Hill and Blacktown boundaries. Glendenning and Plumpton are within the same run.
The estate housing is brick, much of it two storey, on compact lots. Because the suburb went up in one go, homes on the same street tend to reach the same faults within a year or two of each other.
When a shutter of this age fails, the useful question is whether the rest of the unit is worth keeping. A curtain and rails in good condition with a dead motor is a straightforward motor replacement. A corroded curtain with a dead motor is a different conversation, and we will give you the honest version rather than replacing a motor into a unit that will not last it out.
