Voyager Point has the Georges River along one boundary and bushland along most of the rest, and both turn up in the repairs we do here. River humidity works on the motors and the bushland fills the headboxes.
We cover the whole of Voyager Point in the 2172 postcode, along with the neighbouring pockets at Pleasure Point and Sandy Point. Holsworthy, Hammondville, Moorebank and the East Hills side across the river are all within the same run.
The suburb was released in 1987 and built out in stages since, so the housing is consistent, well built and now at the age where original fittings start needing attention.
Where a property backs onto bush, shutters are worth keeping in good order for ember protection as much as anything else. A shutter that seals against the frame is a far better barrier than one sitting a few millimetres off. If yours does not close fully or the guides are packed with debris, that is worth sorting before the warmer months rather than after. Clearing the headbox out at the same time is sensible, because a box full of dry leaf litter is not something you want sitting above a window.
