Strathfield covers a wider range of window sizes than almost anywhere else we work. The large Federation and interwar houses on the older avenues have openings well beyond any standard size, while the apartment stock closer to the station is uniform and repetitive. The two need completely different approaches.
We cover Strathfield across the 2135 postcode and the streets running toward Homebush, North Strathfield, Burwood and Strathfield South. Concord, Enfield and the Flemington side are within the same service area.
The grand homes on the older tree-lined avenues were built with generous glazing, and the shutters fitted to those openings are heavy, wide and carrying more load than a standard unit ever does.
When a wide shutter fails, the first question is whether the unit was ever right for the opening. We would rather tell you that a motor keeps burning out because it is undersized than fit a third one and take your money again in two years. Where the original specification was wrong, we will say so and set out what a properly sized unit would involve before you commit to anything.
