Two Riverstones sit side by side. There is the old town around the station with weatherboard cottages that go back to the meatworks era, and there are the new release estates that have gone up around it over the last fifteen years. The shutter problems in each are nothing alike.
We cover Riverstone in the 2765 postcode, from the older streets near Garfield Road through to the newer estates, and we take in Schofields, Marsden Park, Vineyard and the Quakers Hill side.
Old cottages have timber that has moved and openings that were never truly square. New estate homes have compact motorised shutters installed across a whole street in the same few months.
The two halves of Riverstone need different approaches. On the older cottages the job is usually about how the shutter is anchored and whether the opening has moved, and we would rather repack and re-anchor a unit than force it back into line. On the estates it is about motors and control gear, and parts for those are still easy to source. Either way, we would rather repair what is already on the wall than talk you into a new one. More often than not there is a lot more life left in the unit than the owner expected.
