Rhodes changed almost completely in twenty years. What was industrial land on the Parramatta River is now one of the densest apartment areas in this part of Sydney, and most of the shutter work we do here is well above street level.
We cover the whole Rhodes peninsula in the 2138 postcode, from the towers around Rhodes Waterside and Homebush Bay through to the older streets west of the railway and the boundaries with Concord West and Liberty Grove.
High-rise exposure is harder on a shutter than a suburban wall. Wind loading is stronger, the air carries salt off the bay, and access for a repair has to be arranged rather than assumed. None of that makes a repair difficult, but it does make planning one worthwhile.
In an apartment building it is worth knowing before you call whether the shutter is your lot property or common property, because that decides who authorises the repair. We work with owners and with strata managers either way. Access on upper levels needs arranging in advance, so tell us the level you are on and whether the shutter can be reached from a balcony when you get in touch, and we will bring the right equipment the first time. Where a building has the same shutters throughout, a fault on one level is often already known to the building manager.
