There is more warehouse space than housing in Prospect, and the shutter work we do here reflects that. Most of it is commercial doors on the estates either side of the Great Western Highway, with a residential pocket that we look after as well.
We cover the Prospect industrial estates and the residential streets in the 2148 postcode, and we take in Pemulwuy, Blacktown, Arndell Park, Huntingwood and the Wetherill Park side as well.
Commercial roller shutters and roller doors work far harder than a domestic unit ever does. They fail from cycle count and impact rather than from age, and the warning signs are different. Anything that stops one of these doors usually stops a loading bay with it.
The land around Prospect Reservoir and Prospect Hill sits above the surrounding plain and catches wind that flatter suburbs are sheltered from. Wide doors flex under that load, and repeated flexing wears the slat edges where they run in the guides. On an exposed elevation it is worth checking the guides for wear as well as the motor, because a door that rattles badly in a westerly is usually telling you the curtain is no longer held firmly in the rail. A guide showing wear at the top of its run is a warning worth acting on before the curtain starts catching.
