Norwest is one of the few places on our run where most of the calls come from businesses rather than households. The business park in the 2153 postcode is full of warehouses, workshops, showrooms and loading docks, and a roller shutter on commercial premises has a very different job to one over a bedroom window.
We cover the Norwest business park and the residential buildings around the metro station, along with Bella Vista, Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill and Winston Hills. The Hills District is a regular route for us.
Commercial shutters run many more cycles per week than domestic ones and they are usually larger and heavier. The residential towers here bring a separate set of problems around access and building management.
A shutter that is part of how a business opens in the morning belongs on a service schedule rather than being repaired when it fails. Most of the emergency calls we take from the business park are for something that had been making a noise for weeks. If your shutter is the only way stock gets in and out, it is worth having the limit switches and the safety devices checked before it strands your staff on the footpath at seven in the morning. Where a unit is under a maintenance agreement with the building, we can work alongside whoever holds it rather than duplicating the visit.
