The rail corridor runs right through North Strathfield and it makes a difference to shutters on the streets closest to it. Fine grit works off the line and settles in the guide rails, and homes near the corridor often have shutters fitted partly for noise, which means the quality of the fit matters more than usual.
We cover North Strathfield across the 2137 postcode on both sides of the rail line, from the Concord boundary through to Strathfield and Homebush. Mortlake, Concord West and Rhodes are all part of the same run.
The older housing here is Federation and interwar, with newer apartment stock closer to the station. The suburb also sits near enough to the Parramatta River for damp air to reach it on most mornings.
If your shutter was fitted to cut train noise, ask us to check the seal rather than the slats. Most of the noise getting past a closed shutter comes through a gap at the bottom rail or along the side guides, not through the curtain. Adjusting the seating and the clearance normally gets you more improvement than anything you could buy, and it takes one visit rather than a new unit and a fresh installation.
