Two very different kinds of shutter work come out of Lidcombe. There are the post-war brick and fibro houses spread across the 2141 postcode, nearly all of them with retrofitted units, and there are the apartment towers that have gone up around the station over the past fifteen years. The faults barely overlap.
We cover Lidcombe end to end, from the streets bordering Auburn and Berala across to the Homebush side and down toward Rookwood. Regents Park and Sydney Olympic Park are on the same run.
Lidcombe sits well inland and summer here runs hotter than anywhere near the coast. Heat is behind more of the faults we find than ordinary wear ever is.
Ground floor windows on the busier streets around the station get more attention than they would in a quiet cul de sac, and a shutter that no longer locks down properly is worth dealing with promptly. If the bottom rail is not seating on the sill, or the end locks have stopped engaging, you have a security problem before you have a maintenance one. Tell us that when you call and we will treat it accordingly. Older units on the houses are worth checking at the same time, since a single visit can cover several shutters on the one property.
