Kellyville homes tend to have more shutters than most, and they tend to be bigger. The suburb filled out with large brick houses through the 1990s and 2000s, many with wide western glazing, so a single property here can carry several oversized units all installed at once and all ageing at the same rate.
We cover Kellyville and North Kellyville across the 2155 postcode, from the Windsor Road and Old Windsor Road corridors through to Beaumont Hills, Rouse Hill, Bella Vista, Glenhaven and the Castle Hill boundary. The newer apartment buildings that have gone up near the Metro station are inside our area too.
Wide shutters fail differently to narrow ones. Load concentrates in the middle of the curtain and on the motor, and small alignment problems get magnified right across the span.
If a motor on a wide Kellyville shutter has burnt out, replacing it like for like will often buy you the same failure again. The right question is whether the original was ever properly rated for the weight of that curtain, and on estate-era installations the answer is frequently no. We work out what the unit actually weighs before recommending a motor, and where the numbers are marginal we will say so rather than fitting the same part and hoping.
