Jacka is one of the newest suburbs in the ACT and the shutters we see here are mostly under ten years old. That changes the nature of the work. We are rarely replacing worn-out hardware in Jacka. We are usually correcting an installation that was never quite right, or dealing with electronics that have failed earlier than they should have.
We cover all of Jacka in the 2914 postcode, across the newer releases and the streets along the northern edge of the district. Taylor, Bonner, Amaroo and Moncrieff sit around it and are all part of the same Gungahlin run.
Homes in Jacka tend to have large glazed areas and shutters that were specified as part of the build. Volume construction gets plenty right, but shutter installers are often the last trade on site and the finish can suffer for it.
A shutter that is only a few years old and already misbehaving almost always has a fitting or settings problem rather than a worn component. It is worth checking whether the install is still covered before anything gets replaced, and we will tell you if we think it should go back to the original installer. Where that is not an option, most of these faults are an adjustment and a re-commission rather than a rebuild.
