Holder has two housing ages in the one suburb. Most of it went up in the early 1970s, and like the rest of Weston Creek there are streets that were rebuilt after the 2003 fires. That split matters for shutter work, because a 1970s retrofit and a post-2003 installation need completely different things.
We cover Holder in the 2611 postcode along with Duffy, Weston, Rivett, Stirling and Waramanga. Weston Creek is a compact district and we cover all of it.
On the older housing the issues are age related. On the rebuilt housing they are almost entirely to do with motors and controls, since those systems went in around twenty years ago and are reaching the same point together. The two ages are easy to tell apart from the street once you know what to look for.
The first thing we work out on a Holder job is when the shutter went in, because that decides what is available. Hardware from the early 1970s often has no direct replacement and the repair becomes a sensible retrofit instead. Systems from the 2000s usually still have parts, or a current equivalent that will drive the existing curtain. Knowing which side of that line you are on changes the answer, so we check it before quoting anything. Either way we will tell you which it is before we start.
