Heckenberg homes are mostly single storey on small blocks, and nearly every shutter here was added to a house that was finished decades before shutters were common. Retrofits are not a problem in themselves, but they concentrate the faults in the fixings and the alignment rather than in the shutter.
We cover Heckenberg and the surrounding 2168 suburbs, including Sadleir, Ashcroft, Busby, Miller, Cartwright and Green Valley. One trip covers the lot, so a job here is treated no differently to one in a larger suburb.
The original housing dates from the 1960s and is a mix of brick and fibro, much of it now renovated or reclad. Where cladding has changed, the shutter fixings underneath were not always redone to suit.
People often expect the worst when a shutter stops working. In practice, a service call here usually starts with cycling the unit, checking how square the rails are, cleaning the tracks and looking at the state of the fixings. A lot of Heckenberg jobs are resolved at that point without a single part. Where something does need replacing, we tell you what it is and why before we do it, so you are not agreeing to work you cannot see the reason for.
