Almost every shutter in Green Valley is a retrofit. The estate was built out through the 1960s and 70s without them, so what we work on here was added later to houses that were never designed around it, and that is where most of the faults begin.
We cover Green Valley and the rest of the 2168 postcode, including Hinchinbrook, Busby, Cartwright, Heckenberg, Ashcroft, Sadleir and Miller. It is one run for us, so a job on a boundary street is no harder to reach than one in the middle.
The housing here is mostly single storey brick and fibro on modest blocks, a good deal of it since renovated or extended. Window openings on the originals are often not square, and a shutter fitted to a nominal measurement will bind on one side of the reveal.
We would rather fix what is already there. On a lot of Green Valley jobs the curtain and the box are perfectly sound and the problem is a bracket, a bearing or a strap. Swapping out a whole unit because one component has failed is spending you do not need to do, and we will say so on site. Where a shutter genuinely is past saving we will tell you that too, with a clear reason rather than a sales pitch.
