Very little in Enmore has a front garden between the window and the footpath. Victorian and Federation terraces across the 2042 postcode open almost directly onto the street, and that proximity is behind most of the domestic shutter damage we see here, from knocks to the bottom rail through to slats bent by passers-by.
We cover all of Enmore, both the residential streets and the businesses along the main strip, and take in Newtown, Stanmore, Petersham and Marrickville on the same route. The inner west is core territory for us and we are through these streets most weeks.
Terraces present some of the hardest fitting conditions in Sydney. The frontages are narrow, the walls are shared, the openings are tall and the brickwork is old and soft.
The businesses along Enmore Road run their shutters twice a day every trading day, and late night venues put more cycles through them again. That is far harder use than any home shutter sees, and the warning signs are the same each time: it gets noisy, then slow, then it stops. If yours is at the noisy stage, deal with it before it strands you with the shop open and the front unsecured. Trading hours are not a problem for us to work around if you tell us what they are.
