Dunlop backs onto open New South Wales country on three sides, and there is very little between those paddocks and your windows. Wind arrives with nothing to break it and it brings dust with it. On the northern, western and south-western boundaries a shutter takes more buffeting in a year than the same unit would in the middle of Belconnen. Dunlop was gazetted in 1993 and built out in stages from there, running from small early estates of around fifty houses through to the much larger Ginninderra Ponds releases, so the age of the hardware varies street by street.
We cover all of Dunlop in the 2615 postcode, from the earliest streets through to the Ginninderra Ponds estates on the outer edge. Charnwood, Macgregor and Fraser adjoin the suburb and we service the whole of west Belconnen, so several jobs in the area fit into one visit.
Housing from the mid 1990s onward on the exposed western edge of Belconnen. Wind and dust drive most of what we see.
Shutters on the paddock-facing side of a Dunlop house need checking more often than the ones at the back, and the check itself is quick. Tightening guide fixings and clearing the channel before anything has gone out of alignment is a small job. Realigning a curtain that has been tracking off for a whole season is not. If yours has become noticeably noisier in the wind, that is usually the first sign worth acting on.
