Dickson mixes 1950s and 60s houses with apartments and shopfronts, sometimes within the same block. The first houses went up near the Braddon boundary in 1958 and the suburb filled out from there, and it has kept changing since. Around the Dickson centre the buildings get taller and the shutters are there for security as much as anything else. Out in the residential streets they are mostly retrofits on older brick, doing insulation work through winter. Two quite different jobs in one postcode.
We cover all of Dickson in the 2602 postcode, from the streets near the Dickson centre through to the wetlands side and the Downer, Hackett and Ainslie boundaries. Lyneham and Watson are immediately adjacent and we work throughout the inner north.
Older residential brickwork alongside newer mixed-use buildings, so the fault depends heavily on where in the suburb you are.
If your shutter is on a shopfront or a mixed-use building near the centre, it is almost certainly working harder than a residential one and it should be looked at more often. A worn seal and a slightly out of true curtain matter more when the unit runs several times a day. We service both sides of Dickson, and we will tell you what interval actually makes sense for your unit rather than applying a standard one.
