Most of Crace was finished between 2009 and 2015, which puts a lot of its shutter motors right at the age where they start giving trouble. Display homes went up in 2009, more than half the suburb was built by 2012, and the bulk of it was done by 2015. Motors fitted then have had somewhere between ten and sixteen years of daily cycling through Canberra summers and Canberra frosts. That is the point where capacitors fade, receivers drop out and limits begin to drift.
We cover all of Crace in the 2911 postcode, from the streets near Percival Hill across to the Palmerston and Mitchell boundaries. Nicholls, Franklin, Giralang and Kaleen adjoin the suburb and the Gungahlin town centre is minutes away, so we combine jobs across the area.
Modern brick and lightweight construction, blocks ranging from small to standard, and shutters that mostly went on with the build.
A suburb built inside a short window ages inside a short window. If your neighbours have started replacing motors, yours is probably not far behind, and there is a real advantage in having it checked before it fails rather than after. A motor caught while it is still running can often be kept going with a spring retension and a rail service. A motor that has already seized means taking the whole assembly apart to get at it.
