You can drive across Conder and pass houses built twenty-five years apart. The suburb was gazetted in 1987 and the earliest streets went up not long after, but developments such as Eastern Valley Rise and The Landscape kept adding to it well into this century. That spread matters for shutter work, because a repair on an original 1990s install and a repair on something fitted in the last decade are two different conversations. Conder also sits near the southern end of the built-up area, so the frost is heavier and the wind has fewer obstacles in its way.
We cover all of Conder in the 2906 postcode, across the original streets and the later estates. Banks, Gordon, Calwell and Theodore adjoin the suburb, and Tharwa is a short distance further south, so we take in the whole Lanyon Valley on one run.
Two generations of housing in one postcode, so we ask what year the house went up before anything else.
Knowing roughly when your house was built saves time on a Conder callout, because it tells us what generation of hardware to expect and which parts to bring. If you are not sure, a photo of the headbox end cap or the motor label is usually enough for us to identify it before we arrive. That is often the difference between one visit and two.
