Concord holds a lot of Federation and interwar housing on wide, established streets, and shutters on those homes have to work with the building rather than against it. The 2137 postcode also sits close to the Parramatta River, so there is a slow salt element to the ageing that owners a few suburbs inland do not have to think about.
We cover all of Concord, including the streets running towards Concord West, Cabarita and Mortlake, and the sections bordering North Strathfield and Burwood. The rest of the Canada Bay area is on the same run for us.
Older houses that have been renovated more than once present a mix of original and modern openings on the same building. A shutter that suits the front of the house may be entirely the wrong approach at the rear.
A lot of homes here have had a modern rear extension added behind an original street frontage. That usually means two quite different sets of shutters on the one property, of different ages and often from different manufacturers. We are used to sorting out which parts are still available and which need an alternative approach, so you get the whole house working rather than half of it. It also means one visit instead of two, which matters on a property with shutters front and back.
