Charnwood was laid out on the Radburn model, with houses turned to face common parkland and their garages served from the street at the rear. Most owners eventually fenced the park side, which screened the houses off from the open space the whole design was built around. For us that means the front of a Charnwood house is often not the side you drive up to, and the shutter needing work may be on the elevation facing the reserve rather than the road. The suburb was gazetted in 1973, so the housing is past fifty and the brickwork behaves accordingly.
We cover all of Charnwood in the 2615 postcode, including the streets around the shops and the parkland pockets through the middle of the suburb. Dunlop, Macgregor, Latham, Flynn and Fraser adjoin Charnwood and we service the whole of west Belconnen.
Early 1970s brick housing, much of it built as government stock, with shutters added long afterwards.
If your house faces the parkland, mention it when you book. It changes how we load in and how long the job takes, and it is far better to know beforehand than to have a technician turn up with the wrong setup. Some Charnwood properties have a gate through the rear fence and some do not. Either is workable. What causes delays is finding out on site.
