The western and southern sides of Chapman back straight onto nature park, and that boundary explains a good share of our callouts. Debris comes off the reserve and finds its way into shutter boxes, wind crosses the open ground without much to slow it down, and frost on that edge of Weston Creek sits heavier than it does closer to town. Chapman's housing dates from the period when Weston Creek was built out in the early 1970s, so the brickwork is now well past fifty years old and holds a fixing accordingly.
We cover all of Chapman in the 2611 postcode, including the streets on the reserve boundary and the flatter section toward Fisher and Waramanga. Stirling, Rivett and Kambah adjoin the suburb and we service the whole of Weston Creek, so several jobs across neighbouring suburbs can be grouped into one visit.
Early 1970s housing on the edge of bushland. That combination gives us a fairly consistent list.
Shutters on the reserve-facing side of a Chapman house need more attention than the ones at the back. Clearing the box is the most useful single thing you can do, and it is not a big job when it happens regularly. Left long enough, packed debris grinds against the curtain and holds moisture on the axle, and then you are dealing with a seized bearing instead of a clean-out. We can open and clear the box while we are on site for anything else.
