Cecil Hills sits well out in Sydney's south west, and the temperature difference between here and the coast is the single biggest factor in how shutters age locally. Aluminium that spends a January afternoon in full 2171 sun expands enough to bind in the guide rails, and a unit that has done that a few hundred times behaves very differently to one on a shaded eastern wall.
We cover the whole of Cecil Hills within the 2171 postcode and take in the surrounding Liverpool area on the same run, including Elizabeth Hills, Hoxton Park, Horningsea Park and Green Valley. Cecil Park, Abbotsbury and Bonnyrigg Heights are all close enough that we can usually fit them into the same visit.
Most of Cecil Hills went up from the early 1990s onward, so the housing is consistent: brick veneer, generous glazing and a lot of two storey homes. The shutters fitted to them are now old enough that original hardware is reaching the end of its life.
Two storey homes are the norm here, and a first floor bedroom shutter is not something to tackle off a household ladder. We bring the access gear with us so an upstairs unit gets the same proper inspection as one at ground level, and we would rather you left a high shutter jammed than tried to force it yourself.
