Berala has been rebuilding itself in patches. Original postwar cottages still line plenty of streets, and between them sit duplexes and townhouses put up in the last twenty years. That mix means we might service a shutter fitted in the 1990s to a fibro-and-brick cottage in the morning and a modern motorised unit on a new build two doors down that afternoon.
We cover Berala across the 2141 postcode and the neighbouring suburbs of Lidcombe, Regents Park, Auburn and the Chullora side. It is a compact area and well within our regular run, so bookings here rarely wait long.
Older cottages and newer infill housing fail differently, and the volume of road and rail traffic through this part of Cumberland adds something of its own.
Plenty of people in Berala have shutters as much for quiet as for security, particularly on the streets closest to the rail corridor and the main roads. A closed shutter takes a noticeable edge off outside noise, but only if it seals at the bottom rail and sits properly in both guides. If yours has a gap at the base or rattles when a truck goes past, that is usually an alignment or a seal problem rather than anything major, and it is worth having looked at.
