Belconnen is both a suburb and the name for a whole quarter of Canberra, and we work across all of it. The town centre itself sits around Lake Ginninderra and is dominated by apartment towers and medium density housing. The district spreading out from it holds more than twenty suburbs built from 1967 onwards, so we see everything from original late 1960s brick cottages through to units finished in the last few years. What ties them together is the climate. Belconnen gets the same wide daily temperature range as the rest of the ACT, and that swing is what fatigues shutter hardware.
We cover the Belconnen town centre suburb in the 2617 postcode and the wider district around it, including Aranda, Bruce, Cook, Macquarie, Page, Weetangera, Hawker, Scullin, Florey, Evatt, Kaleen, Latham, Charnwood, Dunlop, Macgregor and Holt. Emu Ridge and Ginninderra Heights sit inside the Belconnen suburb boundary and we attend both.
Housing across the district spans roughly sixty years, so the age of the building usually tells us what we will find before we arrive.
The apartment buildings close to Lake Ginninderra put a lot of shutters high up on common property walls. If you are in one of them, the practical first step is confirming who is responsible for the shutter before booking anything, because that answer changes who signs off and who pays. We can inspect, write up the fault and give a committee or building manager something concrete to work from. Detached homes across the rest of the district are far simpler and we can usually get to those quickly.
