Two very different kinds of building sit side by side in Ashfield. There are Federation and interwar houses on the quieter streets, and there is a large stock of red brick walk-up flats and newer apartment blocks closer to the station and the main roads. The shutter work those two groups need has almost nothing in common, and the second group brings a strata committee into the conversation.
We cover the 2131 postcode end to end, from the Liverpool Road side across to the streets bordering Summer Hill, Croydon, Haberfield and Ashbury. Access and parking are tighter here than in most of our service area, so we allow for it rather than turning up and hoping.
Older houses fail one way and unit blocks fail another. Between them we see most of what can go wrong with a shutter.
If your shutter is on a unit, the first question is usually who is responsible for it. Shutters on a common property elevation are often the owners corporation's problem rather than yours, and a repair done without that being settled can turn into an argument later. We are happy to deal with a strata manager or building manager directly, and we can give you a written scope you can take to a committee before anything gets booked in.
